Maine's January storms declared disaster

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opens a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Harpswell!
In response to the January storm damage, FEMA's DRC is located at the Orr's Island Schoolhouse, 1594 Harpswell Islands Road, Orr's Island. The DRC will be open 8am to 6pm seven days a week, beginning April 10. For now, appointments are not needed. There are services in the center from FEMA, Small Business Administration, and an environmental consultant. Residents and business owners are encouraged to go to the DRC to report damages, apply for disaster aid, and ask any questions you may have.

President Biden approved Maine's Disaster Declaration enabling federal assistance to help with local recovery efforts affected by the severe storms and flooding of January 9 - 13.  As a result, FEMA officials will be in Harpswell as soon as tomorrow morning at 9am, to begin location assessments and personal meetings with those who have submitted claims.  To begin the claims process or ask questions:  please contact FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 or go to www.DisasterAssistance.gov
