Harpswell Mooring Application

 

Using the form below, please enter your mooring request information to the best of your ability. If you do not know what your mooring tackle will consist of, leave the mooring tackle fields blank and those details can be added in the future once known. 

Resident and/or Taxpayer: $50
Resident Commercial Fisherman 1st Mooring: $25
Non Resident Commercial Fisherman 1st Mooring: $125                                          
Non-Resident: $250
Swim Float/Lobster Float: $50
Guest: $50
Service: $50
Rental: $125

Note: Swim/ Lobster Floats, Guest, Service and Rental moorings all require a permit from the Army  Corps of Engineer's. First, fill out a mooring application using the fields below and submit. This will hold your spot that you are applying for. Once you get your permit back from the ACOE, the Town can approve your mooring request.

I certify that I am the owner of the all described vessels and I understand that any misrepresentation in this application may lead to immediate cancellation of mooring permit privileges. I agree to all the terms listed below:

  1. Permits are non-transferable. It is illegal to rent a mooring without first obtaining a permit from the army corps of engineers.
  1. Location of all moorings shall be assigned by the harbormaster.
  1. The Holder of all permits are responsible for setting moorings and making adjustments as required for the safety of said vessel and adjacent vessels & moorings.
  1. Mooring numbers must be painted or burned in 3-inch or larger numbers. All newly assigned moorings will be a white mooring buoy displaying a visible blue horizontal stripe above the waterline.
  1. Neglected, abandoned or unauthorized moorings (including but not limited to, unpaid fees, or wrong location) shall be moved or removed by or under the direction of the Harbormaster. Any expense incurred will be borne by the person responsible for its placement (if known).
  1. Mooring holders must obtain a mooring inspection every three years, or attest to a self inspection, acknowledging that the mooring is in safe, working condition, OR; the mooring owner will not use the mooring until they are able to get an inspection confirming its safety. 
  1. Violation of any of  these rules as stipulated shall result in the forfeiture of all permit and lease privileges.
