The calculator below will allow you to estimate the amount of excise tax you will pay on your vehicle.

Please enter your vehicle's MSRP in the box below. For new vehicles, this will be the amount on the dealer sticker (not the amount you paid).
For used vehicles that do not have this sticker, you need to estimate what this amount was when the vehicle was new.

Age of Vehicle:

Year 1: $24.00 per $1000 of value (current year, i.e. brand new vehicle)

Year 2: $17.50 per $1000 of value

Year 3: $13.50 per $1000 of value

Year 4: $10.00 per $1000 of value

Year 5: $6.50 per $1000 of value

Year 6 & Older: $4.00 per $1000 of value

 

Additional fees:

  • Agent Fee: $5.00 or $6.00
  • Registration Fee: $35.00 (includes choice of pine tree or no tree plate)
  • Vanity Plate: $25.00
  • Specialty Plate: $15.00 re-registration / $20.00 new plate
  • Title Fee (new): $33.00
  • Sales Tax is 5.5% on newly purchased vehicles if not paid at the dealership
