Mitchell Field

Mitchell Field is a 119.3 acre Town-owned property located on Harpswell Neck. The property has 2,630 feet of shoreline (currently Zoned Shoreland Residential) and 350’ of road frontage along Rt. 123. The site has underground electric and communications conduits, 9 Buildings, approximately 2 miles of paved road and approximately .75 miles of dirt road.

The Town acquired the property in 2001 from the Federal Government after the Fuel Depot closed in 1992 and the property was remediated. The former housing area was transferred to the Town in 2004.

*Please Note: Mitchell Field will be closed to public vehicle access for the month of January due to the boat ramp construction and admin building demolition projects. Visitors may park outside the gate and enter on foot. Additional parking is available at Pammy’s Ice Cream next door. The waterfront, including the beach, will be inaccessible during this time.*
