Municipal Shellfish Program

 The Town of Harpswell, in conjunction with the Maine Department of Marine Resources, manages its intertidal shellfish resources under the Municipal Shellfish Management Program as described in M.R.S Title 12, §6671. Under the Municipal Shellfish Management Program, the Town has maintained the authority to place limits on the amount of licenses issued, the opening and closing of mud flats for conservation and the quantity and species of shellfish that may be harvested. Please ensure that you are properly licensed and are informed about all public health and conservation closures before harvesting.
